The new moulding on Lada cars has been designed to prevent mold from forming and can be installed inside the car.
It’s a safety measure, and one that will only be needed on the company’s more expensive cars.
It also comes after Lada’s biggest rival, the Japanese carmaker Toyota, installed moulding for a few of its vehicles, and has since introduced new models with it.
Toyota has said it will install moulding throughout its cars, but this is the first time it’s done so in a car.
It comes after Toyota said it was taking steps to ensure the quality and safety of its car production line, after a similar issue at a factory in Tohoku, Japan.
“Toyota will be installing moulding inside all of its production lines starting with the 2020 model year,” a Toyota spokesperson said.
“Our aim is to be safe and secure for our workers.”
While the number of cars on Lda’s production line is a small fraction of that of its competitors, Mr Capps said it’s a step forward.
“Our cars have been in a lot worse shape than the average Japanese car, so this is very good news,” he said.
“It’s good for our customers because we are able to sell more cars.”
However, the company is still waiting for a final product from its Japanese partner.
Toyota is the biggest carmaker in the world, with its sales in 2020 set to be more than $2.6 trillion.
“The biggest concern is the quality, which is not the same as the safety of our vehicles,” Mr Cattelli said.
A spokesman for Lada said they were “working closely with our suppliers and manufacturers to ensure all of our products are tested to ensure that they meet safety requirements.”
“We will not comment further on this until all relevant safety testing has been completed.”
