The first step is to create a waffles.
Waffles are basically just waffles with an added layer of dough, and they’re incredibly easy to make.
You need a couple of ingredients: flour, sugar, water and salt.
Filling the waffle mould with these ingredients is actually quite simple, although you may have to use a bit more than just water.
Fill a small bowl with cold water and add flour.
Now add sugar and salt and let it sit for a few minutes to make sure it’s fully dissolved.
Then add the flour mixture.
Once the water has dissolved, add the water, baking soda and baking powder.
Mix it all together.
Next add a bit of butter and mix it together as well.
Add the flour again and mix everything together.
Now pour the batter into the waffles, making sure they’re even and flat.
If the batter doesn’t seem to be completely covered, it’s probably too thick.
Make sure you don’t overdo it or you’ll have a mess.
Waffle moulds are also perfect for making fruit cake.
Using a wafer to form the top of your cake means that it’s a lot easier to shape.
Bake at 350C for 30 minutes.
After the cake is done baking, remove the wafers from the wifes and let them cool for a bit.
The batter will still be soft, so be sure to check the batter every 10 minutes or so.
Take it out of the oven and set it aside to cool again.
While the cake cools, make the filling.
First you need to add the sugar.
This is because sugar is the main ingredient of the wafer.
Cut up a wafing into strips, and then pour the sugar mixture into each strip.
Place them on a tray lined with parchment paper.
Cover with clingfilm and chill for 30 mins.
Slice the wirings in half and put the sugar syrup into each one.
Transfer the wis to a bowl, add a little more sugar and mix until it’s completely dissolved.
