An Adelaide Oval bookcase trim is being prepared for its next owner, with a team of specialists working to complete it.
The project is being led by Mark O’Connor, who previously worked on the new bookcases at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
O’Connor said the task would take up to six months to complete and was scheduled to be completed in late February.
“The bookcases are in the process of being finished,” he said.
“It’s about about six months away from being completed, so it’s really exciting to see what that project is going to look like.”
The task will involve installing a moulding and making sure it meets strict safety requirements.
“I don’t want to give away too much, but it’s about being very, very careful with the moulding,” O’ Connor said.
It will be delivered to the Adelaide Oval on February 27.
The team of professionals are working with a local contractor to ensure the project is completed on time and on budget.
Oddly, the team has not made a formal announcement about the work, but has said it was still in discussions with the Adelaide Football Club about the future of the Oval.
